Re: 20,000 Bic techno 283 boards in the world so....

I'm not a windsurfer, but I do have an appreciation for board design. What makes the Bic Techno 283 board unique?

Re: Calhoun 1/23/16

How'd your session go Adam? Did the ice appear safe across the entire lake? Is there much for snow cover or is it a patchwork of snow & ice? Please provide details, I'm anxious to start snowkiting on Calhoun again.

Re: Kite Stability

Wow!! Great explanation! Balancing the bridle’s tow point with the kite’s center effort, the right balance achieves kite stability. Fascinating stuff! Thanks Mike for reaching out to your reps. Please be sure to thank the Naish rep for providing this explanation, much appreciated. His answer definit...

Kite Stability

What characteristics determine a kite’s stability? I know some people would like to claim it’s brand based, but if we go beyond that, what do the kite designers & engineers do to enhance how smooth and stable a kite flies? I’m sure some of us have flown kites in the past that feel punchy or seem...

Re: Flying to Costa Rica This Weekend..

I have the NSI Deceiver bag. I originally bought the bag because in my opinion it actually looks like a golf bag and is further disguised with the word "golf" on it. I've used it twice in the last 2 years and I was able to get by both Sun Country and Delta agents without harassment. On bot...

Re: The Bear Delivered!

Fabrino, last week I arrived at Swede about 1 hour before you did, you probably saw my tracks at the launch. I didn't stick around though once I realized the surface was all ice. After leaving the lake I stopped and checked out the same field you ended up riding at (based on the picture you posted i...

The Bear Delivered!

Drove out to White Bear Lake this afternoon to check out surface conditions since the metro area received two dustings of snow the last couple of days. Wasn't expecting to see much but mostly bare ice. Boy did I get a pleasant surprise! :D To my amazement the Mahtomedi side of the lake had about 80%...

I plan to be there early Thursday morning. If anybody gets out Wednesday afternoon, please post the conditions (confirmed ice thickness, if the snow bonded, etc).

Your surfboard is a weapon

Something interesting I recently read by author Porter Stansberry, which to me emphasizes the importance of the buddy system. I had watched the wave carefully. It was the one I'd been waiting for… the one not quite big enough to break on the outside sandbar. It only "feathered" as outgoin...

Re: Lake Michigan Trip nice start.......!

I agree with George, Lake Michigan definitely delivered with her smooth consistent winds and wide expansive beaches. At least 4 of the beaches we kited at could rival Hawaii in terms of beauty. The amazing part is most of them are between 7-9 hours from the Twin Cities! With all the campgrounds avai...

Re: Winter Wind

If you look at the attached link, the lower charts shows statistically we're likely to have about 8 or 9 days of wind greater than 15 mph during the Dec 22-Jan 22 time period, about the same or slightly better than the summer months. If you have limited packing space and must choose between a smalle...

Re: Blade 17M kite demo

Thanks for the review Barry, very nicely written with a lot of great specifics. The Zephyr has been the supreme light wind kite locally so it's nice to hear an honest comparison from a non sponsored viewpoint. Also sometimes it's hard to get a good read from the magazine reviews which all tend to so...
