Re: Crossing tips for first timers?

Is anyone heading up from the twin cities? (I'd be willing to pay my way as far as gas was concerned).

Re: March 6-8th Mille Lacs Kite Crossing!

I should have, perhaps, added that for those five years I lived at the beach. So would like to think I have the 90% kite skill needed. Also, I have to confess that snowboarding came pretty easy to me even though I'd never done it before. (I was SERIOUSLY into skateboarding between the ages of 9 and ...

Re: March 6-8th Mille Lacs Kite Crossing!

I've been in MN for nearly two months now, and have yet to pump up a kite! (Sad I know but I'm a workaholic, and this place has taken some acclimatising to!) I have stood on a snowboard for the first time though, which was awesome! I'd be so up for going to this event! Is anyone heading up from the ...

Insurance

I'm after getting some extreme sports insurance sorted before the weekend. As am hoping to make it to the Green lake event with Michelle. I'm more concerned about me and others, as opposed to my kit. It could do with covering kiting on snow and water, snowboarding, and wakeboarding. Any suggestions ...

Re: Moving to MN

Thanks Steveb, sounds like there are some great spots close by. I went skiing when I was 15... that was a long time ago! I have kites/ harness/ and snowboarding jacket. Any tips on what I'm gonna need to keep warm... and how much I'm looking at for a snowboard, would be much appreciated. Think I'm d...

Re: Moving to MN

Thanks.

It's great to know that there's such a friendly kiting community in Minnesota. :)

I'm touching down on January the 5th. Should be a bit colder the sunny Cornwall, I'm told.

Looking forward to sessions with fellow Europeans and natives alike.

Re: Moving to MN

Thanks for the speedy, informative, and friendly responses! Seems like there's quite a kiting scene in Minnesota. I'm moving from Cornwall in the U.K., if that makes a difference. I hear you guys have 10,000 plus lakes. I'm looking forward to kiting on snow too... that'll be a first for me. Bill and...

Moving to MN

I'm moving to Minnesota for 2009, from the U.K.

I'll be living in Northfield, and am looking for some locals to hook up and go kiting with.

Would be great to hear from any local kitesurfers/ snowkiters.

Over and out,

Jamie
