Re: Superior Looks Good Friday - Sat...

Darlene and others hit it well the her summary. I'll only add that if you want waves then head up near Cocoa Beach. Florida isn't exactly known for waves, but that's near where they are going to happen if they are at all. There are many good wave spots along the coast near the Cape, and mostly south...

Yeah, I'm sure it lost some lift in that turn, but not as much as you may think. Angle of attack and apparent wind are all that matter. There was plenty of forward motion in the kite = apparent wind. However, the swing and the turn downwind also put the kite in a shallow dive. Really, look at the vi...

I just watched the video while catching up on LAKAWA news after a bit of a hiatus. There are two times in flying airplanes that are the most dangerous - takeoff and landing. Basically, any time you are close to the ground. The amazing thing is that Terry didn't really hit that hard. He was still und...

It's older than that, for sure - but it appears this version is 5! cool...

The previous incarnation of LAKAWA was probably 3-4 years old when Tighe and I switched it over to phpBB and my hosting.

I would so totally try that... My wife might not approve, but I'd do it in a heartbeat. I've wanted to sky dive before, but this takes it several levels and a notch or two higher.

I called him. Nice guy. His dad actually found it up there. 3 of us have called already. :-)

He doesn't remember what it looks like, so he's going to check it out this evening and will call the lucky winner.

Both work. Bellaire is fun and convenient for many of us, but can be gusty. Waconia would offer a must better fetch for the wind.

For me, it's a no-brainer. Bellaire is 5 minutes away... Waconia is closer to 50+ minutes. :-)

If you are getting that much rubbing, even through rash guards and wetsuits, you probably have too much movement in the harness. Clamp it down and get it tight! Also, you can try some BodyGlide: http://www.bodyglide.com/ Put the slippery stuff on the areas that generally get rubbed wrong, and they w...

I used to live in Gunnison, but that is way back up in the hills. Sometimes Blue Mesa Reservoir, west of town, can get some great thermal action in the summer, especially August. However, it depends where you are going to be at - It is 3-4 hours from Denver, west-southwest over the continental divid...
