Re: Duluth 8/4

I am out for at least 2 months :( I broke my wrist in a mountain biking accident. Scaphoid fractures apparently take a long time to heal.

Re: Snow in Duluth?

I was on rice yesterday and on tuesday. Ice is not an issue, it is about 10-14 inches thick. The lake has sketchy bonded snow overall (a combination of bonded snow and bare ice, enough to hold an edge for boarding though.) and slightly better snow conditions along the rim of the lake. Hope this help...

just a thought to consider. This post began under the premise that not every minnesota kiter subscribes to this website? How are we reaching those that do not spend time checking out the "community" sites?

Re: rice on monday

Has anyone been up there since the snow fell? Did it slush out or lose ice? Just looking for a conditions report I guess. I'm itching to get out, haven't been riding for a long time now. I'll try to get out after work on Monday, if I get out at a reasonable time. Good luck Dave.

I agree. I haven't seen a launch yet that more experienced riders couldn't leave a little room for those learning.

I had the same problem. But I just left the pic attached and the site resized it when I submitted my post.

Don't know if this helps, but that was my experience.

Sounds like your getting some good experience. keep up the good work, it won't be long and you will be riding in gusty conditions comfortably. It's good to hear about your success, and that you are progressing safely.

Look forward to riding with you guys again. :)

Re: Looking for kites to demo

Thanks for the offers and advice. I will probably not have the patience to wait and demo gear, but I will take your advice Tighe and contact the team riders directly. I think I will have new gear by the time you guys get back from padre. To answer Nate's question, I was at the kiting spot where you ...

Looking for kites to demo

So, I'm not holding out much hope that I will get my gear back. I replaced my dry suit, and I have gear for cold weather now. I am thinking of trying to ride a few brands/models before buying my replacement kites. I don't know if anyone has open water other than duluth, but if your planing to ride a...

Sorry, I was out of town this week. I was at the overlook just past the dump, on the left. I might be available to come and help.

Re: please keep an eye out for these kites.

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas, all good advice, that I will heed. On the positive side I guess its time to update the quiver. :o Its about time for the silver lining. Couple other thoughts: The credit card theft protection is only good for 90 days, Also (if your not aware of it) items taken fro...

Re: please keep an eye out for these kites.

They were stolen from the wisconsin overlook near wi. point. Good Idea on the card bennies I'll look into that option. If I can figure out a way to get the equipment covered, i'll just buy new gear. But I may be interested in your 12 if I have to start from scratch, thanks for the offer Jim. Its not...

please keep an eye out for these kites.

I had my car broken into today and had my 13 M and 9 M best waroo kites stolen, as well as my drysuit and a number of other items. :( I included pics of the kites, and the dry suit was a front entry mango color with black knee patches. If you see these items for sale please post the info here. Thank...
