Wind Ripped My Arm Off

How windy was it monday? So windy a gust ripped my arm out of the socket. I think they call it a dislocated sholder. I wasn't sure what happened but I didn't have any strenth left so I floated in to shore. After I got to shore I tried to move it and it just went back in. Didn't hurt as much as you w...

Looking For Wind?

MIAMI (Sept. 14) - Still several days from land, Isabel refused to weaken Sunday, as the powerful storm swirled in the Atlantic Ocean toward the East Coast packing 160-mph winds  , making it a dangerous Category 5 hurricane. The tenacious storm had earlier been lowered to a Category 4, when w...

Wind Thursday?

The graph under wind is showing over 15 knots on Thursday but shifting from south south east to north north west. A little tough to pick a beach to sail the whole day. The experimental doesn't look as good. Any opinions or suggestions? If anybody wants to travel tomorrow, it looks like 35-40 knots t...

I was just in Duluth with the kids and it looked like 15-20 knots out of the north northeast, nice swells and breaking waves. I stopped at Park Point to see if anyone was sailing. Its still a little beyond my reach but I thought I might get stoked watching for a bit. I didn't see any sails or kites,...

Wind Today

Experimental is showing 15+ knots on the 6 hour forcast if I'm reading it correctly. Just in time for getting off work? :)

I had my 9.6 in the car ready to head that way but something came up and I couldn't get there. I was with you in spirit and I'm glad to hear somebody was sailing yesterday. See you out there next time.

Thursday Wind

:D The wind showed up 14mph from 2pm to 8pm. I got planing a few times with a 9.6 loft at Belaire. Pete & Terry were flying on 9.0 cambered sails and a couple other guys were sailing 6.6 & 7.0 and still moving okay. It felt great to back on the water even slogging between gusts. Seems like t...

There were white caps on white bear from 3-6 on Saturday. If you look at the wind history it was 15 to 17 mph at the airport for that stretch. I saw it coming up, but I missed most of it by the time I got to the beach. There was somebody leaving Belair when I got there who had sailed it and he was s...

I've noticed Accuweather.com often predicts more wind than the link on this site. Sometimes they're right. They also try to predict out for up to 14 days which is pretty impossible for Minnesota. right now they're predicting wind in the mid teens with gusts in the twentys for the TC tomorrow afterno...

Wind Update

:x I checked the site again today and they have downgraded the forcast wind significantly. Looks like I might be getting some work done around the house. It is so frustrating trying to match a schedule to the wind but I suppose you are all painfully aware of that.
