Calhoun Night Riding

I am being sent to MPLS the first week in February with no day light available.

Does any one ride Calhoun at night? with the city's light pollution does the lake light up pretty well?

I have a feeling a lot of the major retail stores are going to try and grab a bit of the $$. I have to think that those serious enough to kite will go to the more knowledgeable first. This reminds me of when I worked behind the climbing counter at Midwest. As long as we could keep Bob Aldrich out fr...

I'm there! hopefully this year it won't be so hazy. this year i'm not gunna listen to the snowmobiler who pointed me in the direction of the casino and end up in freakin last place. there I was following a pack and the guy said to get closer to land so I didn't get lost. I guess i should have follow...

Tyson if you want a good light wind kite get a 2003 Gaastra GXR 19.5. the kite is supper efficient produces tons of power. for a big kite it's extreemly fast turnning. the best thing about this kite is that it dosn't like to stall and fall... like alot of big kites out there. Jon and they do that n...

I'm 165 lbs and find that a 137 works for 80% of my riding with Bow kites. the other 20% of the time is on a plywood glide clone. with a 16,12 and 9 bow there isn't a day that it has been blowing that I couldn't get out. side note, with the plywood glide clone, the 16 barely comes out anymore, I jus...

After looking at the manual off the SS website, the original manual shows them ONLY clipping the safety leash to the depower end of the CL line. later they ammended this with a one page jobby showing cliping into the centerlines ring....probably a CYA thing for the legality. ***in my opinion*** i'd ...

personally, with the bow kites I don't ever see a reason for clipping into the centerline for safety. I am sure many will disagree but just as many will agree. The only time I have ever touched the centerline ring is to self land. With a TD bar you might even more depower than my crossbow. Can't you...

i understand your fear of getting wrapped up but... if you dump your kite to your left side and pull on the top line. the kite will start to drift down wind. while it is doing so swim to the right of the lines. the water may create enough drag that it keeps the lines out of your way while you work t...

disclaimer: this works for me, but maybe not for everyone after kite is on the edge, top line grabbed and yanked and the kite is now leading edge down and starting to float downwind....(see other posts on this part) 1. pull in a few arm lengths of top line (better to pull more than less, less may al...
