Those T nuts(1/4" diameter?) are what I was thinking. I was presuming that stainless steel was needed and also some fill in on the bottom of the board to make it smooth over the t nuts. Sound about right.
I've seen Strohs board where he sanded down the edges too.

How To Make a Kite Board?
I thought I seen some posts in the past (from Mike W?) about how to make a plywood kiteboard. A search of this forum I found some links to glass kinds of boards. I'm thinking of making some larger plywood boards to hold me over until I either find a reasonable one or this board revolution settles do...

Wac the Fourth?
Anyone thinking of going to Waconia for the forecasted NW to N 11 Knots winds? I don't have a big board to play on; might be able to try my long original directional wakeboard. I can't whip up a plywood plank that fas

Tighe, Reddy was lightish but borderline rideable(downwind for me). Most ran off to Garrison around 4pm with a report from Nathan about better winds. Just as we were leaving at 6pm the wind seemed to be starting to really come up. When I passed Garrison there were no kites on the water and only a co...

Ride Share To Milly Sunday from SW/Prior Lake on up
My garage needs a lot of cleaning so I might just make this maiden voyage (for me) yet. I've got a midsized truck, so room for one or would ride with others if all that junk in my garage stays there

KSweeny, Spring lake is doable and best on a south and slightly west wind in a medium wind speed of say 20 MPH. When the wind really cranks it gets gusty, swirling and streaky. I kite it in the winter and windsurf it in the summer. I will probably kite it in the summer once in awhile when I get bett...

Yup, it was as great as was written. Thanks for not stomping on my mishaps and being patient with me as I cleared the beach out  I need some more ride time on these sheetable kites to override habits from other sports. Does anyone know how to get a hold of Dennis? He told me nylon sail repair ...

I used to live in Rochester and actually waterskied on lake shady. It's very shallow with only a deeper channel down the middle. It is a bit lower than hwy 52 and otherwise surrounded by trees so I wouldn't think the wind would be very good for wind sports. Lake city would be the way to go for winds...

Kite Repair Glue?
I just got a used kite and one of the stitched reinforcements is just starting to come out a bit. A little bit of glue to hold down the edge flap would help. What kind of glue works on Dacron/Ripstop? I suppose I could patch over it to but I don't think it needs it.

Amazingly Spring is 7/8 open. Saturday I skated around on it but found a few wavy spots so I didn't kite on it Sunday. The 80 degree south wind opened up the north shore. Today the NE wind at 60 degrees all but finished it off and might by midnight as it's supposed to get stronger. I was amazed last...

So Dr. to be Mike, I can't possibly be ski kiting bow legged as I'm edging to one side keeping them pretty parallel. My knees aren't sore after normal life stuff (well maybe after a hard night of volleyball). It seems like kiting itself really works my knees and I was wondering if others experience ...

Surface Changed to Bumpy Sheer Ice
Spring lake lost the softer coating of snow/ice crystals it had yesterday and now it's all solid ice. Still a good 1.5 feet thick. It's bumpy enough to grip it with skiis a bit. Does anyone else's knees get sore from kiteskiing or am I just getting old? They feel wierd when I'm done like someone was...

I never winced once and headed out on Spring again tonight. The two feet of ice will probably even make it through the weekend but it will be going fast in the upper 50's. Darn gusty SE winds are a trick though. Might have been my last session though as the wind look like they will be between my kit...

I hear your anxiety. I had Lasik on my astigmatic eyes about 8 years ago and all went great! It would suck to be that less than 1% that really gets messed up though. I was going to do one eye at a time just to be safe but it was too much hassle especially living in Rochester at the time and having i...

Hey Pete, U seen me ride the 9M. I got to take the 12M out a couple of times too. They seem pretty floaty and relatively stable in the air but the only other new kites I have ridden are the 14M TD2 and briefly a 9M Waroo. I'd like to try the Ozone b4 next winter so I can decide myself what to get. I...
