Denis So sad  I was in Gorge Performance this evening and found qty=2 122cm misfits for sale on the back shelf. I have 3 kiteboards now, single, double, and no concave and just bought a 9' longboard for real light wind but really for surfing Pete http://www.nwkite.com/forums/files/board_quiver_...

First ride on a skimboard, March 9th

March 9th 10MPH winds by the time I got to the sandbar. Getting up and going with a 20M high aspect kite wasn't easy. But once you were up and planing to build up some apparent wind I had plenty of power. Aaron Sales was out on a 17.5 SS Machine and the SS Glide board. He was absolutely killing it i...

Denis The only guys in the gorge last summer with the Torch's were Adam Koch and Ben Meyer. Naish Intl team riders. I liked the Torches, they pull very consistently, will be good on the Oregon coast in the waves. I still prefer a 20M in a high aspect kite that turns fast ! The 16M and 12M are be bet...

BB Your twin tips will work fine on the snow. I run a pair of older Pow'airs. Foils have their advantages for winter, no pumping, easier to launch, but for the budget minded person IMHO tubes are the way to go for year round. Tube kites, also called Leading Edge Inflatables (LEIs) work year round. P...

Ice report New Brighton

Just checked the ice on a smaller lake here in New Brighton. Pike Lake. The puddles of water that are trapped between the layers of ice are not as deep as I expected. Not near the 1" of water reported by Steveb on Cedar Lake in WI. I am hoping these 1/4" trapped puddles of water solidify o...

Here are some pictures of Sunday 12/26 at Ramsey Beach White Bear Lake. http://www.petegoodrich.com/WBL/ John Zdechlik is in the photos with his 25M Wipika. Me on my 20M X3. The wind was light and you had to skate hard to get your kite flying. But once you built up some apparent wind the kite would ...

Steve I am glad you said something about the article. Rubbed me the wrong way too. Lets just say it was a dissappointment after such a wonderful trip article about New Zealand just one page earlier. That Airin Sails sure can tell a story. I am sure that someone from this forum could improve upon the...

Steve I resurrected your post, why start a new one with all this good info from last year. I was hoping an ice screw would fit in my christmas stocking this year. But I wanted to make sure I got the right one. $50 seems like alot for a screw I will probably lose. So I am glad to hear that the cheap ...

This is the cheapest Ice screw on the REI webpage ($12.50). Anyone using ice screws with success for a temporary anchor ? For instance, I am out cruising a mile from home, want to shed a layer of clothing and need to stop and put my kite down. Just curious how this would device would work for a quic...

My 2 Cents I am in the buy and hold mode too the resale value of my kites is gone New kites would also eliminate the cardiovascular benefits of my kiting. 1. A Onepump upgrade would eliminate my 5 minute warmup while pumping up the bladders. (especially helpful in winter) 2. A sliding 5th line setup...

I have a hard enough time riding just my skis in a half pipe.

Taking a kite into one never crossed my mind.

Then Alex goes and throws a couple kite loops in
just for added difficulty. Insane !

Those pictures of New Zealand are fantastic.
