Re: Jim Oakes injured

Yes, Biffy and I have visited the Mother - at Tot Lot - a number of times in years past. It was definitely the gnarliest sailing I have ever done. But riding it was such an adrenaline rush. Great memories! Glad you made it out OK Randy.

Re: Ice on Medicine NOT SAFE

Hey Chummers, I'm glad you made it out OK and We are very glad you had your ice picks! My good buddy Brian Smith is one of the kiters that helped you. It has definitely been an uneven freeze this year for the metro lakes. The middle of Lake Minnetonka remains open. Here are a couple tips: Use a broo...

Re: Cleaned the fin off my board...

Good story Pete! How is the Spoon board treating you?
One trick I have done when losing one's fin: Strap your harness around the tail of the board. It provides some resistance and makes your sail back in a bit less than a Full on Hula dance! ;)

Ha, funny...

Eric obtained the nickname 'Admiral' many moons ago - and for good reason.

Ha! The Mallet looks awesome Admiral!

From first glance - It looks like it perfectly fits your personality! (totally meant as a compliment!) :D

Can't wait to see it in action!

Fun fact: The Admiral and I went to Minnetonka High School together 38 years ago, lol

Re: Mississippi Tuesday

Waconia was rocking! Lots of windsurfers and several kiters. Started with the 5.3M NP Combat and got overpowered quickly. Went down to the 4.7 and was dialed in until dark. Some good swell but also some Voodoo chop. A Classic WAC day!

Sounds pretty sweet Pete! Dang, work gets in the way for that trip. Going to Wacky for another Classic Waconia afternoon.
But nothing matches Old Man River when he starts a Rollin.
Have fun and post pics!
Next time,

Nice pic Admiral S! Great to share the H2O with you and the rest of the WAC regulars! That indeed that was some great sailing and stoke at the WAC! A classic day complete with new toyz to play with. I sailed about 4 hours both today and yesterday. I only rigged and used my 5.3M NP Combat - but did u...

Re: Next revolution: Windsurf Foiling

Nice thread guys! I'm in the game also. No doubt it is very tricky in the beginning - but it definitely gets easier the more you do it. Other tips that help: look at the distant shore line to help balance yourself with the board and the rig. The biggest issue is over-correcting with your body weight...

Looking for an Icesurfing apprentice

Many years ago, Steve Cool & I started a small company called IceWerkz. We built a number of custom Icesurfers and snow surfers. The two of us became too busy to do much with the company and I feel it was a lost opportunity to grow the sport. We have a bunch of equipment including two really nic...
