Help!

Hey everyone- Hope you're all getting good wind back in MN. San Fran is some sick riding... But, right now, I'm down in the Dominican Republic in Cabarete again. This time, though, I'm here for work. I've started a nonprofit organization The Wishspring Foundation to raise money for a small school he...

Re: Kiter violates Calhoun ban - lands on floating dock

nope, i don't think in the summer any exceptions are good. gear can break for pro riders the same as it can for newbies, and one broken line can mean out-of-control kite slamming into a picnicing family on-shore. mistakes happen, and that's one lake that a mistake will be much more costly than a lon...

Re: Kiter violates Calhoun ban - lands on floating dock

maybe we should get signs up that make this obvious? as the sport grows there are going to be more and more kiters in the area that are unaware of Lakawa and the 'community' rules... having signs up would really help out, i think.

Re: Could the St. Croix be the midwest Gorge?

i've tried quite a few spots on the croix, and have only been satisfied with the wind on N/NE winds at St Marys point, and a straight S wind riding from the beach just north of the Hudson train bridge - but that I did as a downwinder to stillwater with a boat to pick me up when I was done. For norma...

Re: What Is / Is There an Ultimate High Wind Kite?

i have to say that after a session on an 07 11m fuel in padre in 40+ makes me think that it's a pretty amazing kite. granted, i like riding big, but it still held down and i felt completely in control. great jumping, great stability for unhooking, all around feel-good.

Re: Carpooling this summer

Alright... I have a site I developed some time ago. It's still in early stages, but a few clubs at the University of MN use it right now for organizing rides to their team practices. However, even in its infancy, it's still functional enough for simple use -- I think LAKAWA members will be able to b...

Re: Be Aware

A kite leash should only have the strength to hold a DEPOWERED kite, any stronger pull should eventually break loose the quick release or shackle. I disagree. In most cases, if the leash is pulling a powered kite, then the kite normally finds its way into the water (apart from the rare death-spiral...

"a friend" of mine used to do fakes too... there's lots of easy ways to do what you want with a laminator and card stock. everything you need is at office max, i'd think. he had a card printer for awhile for particular states that needed the PVC base, but they're expensive and slightly dif...

p.s. hank, you used the wrong "its". you can't use an apostrophe if it's possessive.
