Re: Time for a new Harness

What are the nitrous shorts? Are they those Dakine shorts with the built in harness? If yes I have a pair. They sort of look like they could be used for hockey.

Re: Time for a new Harness

I once had the Dakine Fusion. Then while in Padre my kite instructor said get this, its like the Cadillac of all harnesses; the Mystic Warrior! It has a built in seat option. You can ride with it as a seat since that is what your used to or go just waist. I've never looked back. You'll be riding alo...

Re: WEEKEND BEGINS

RobH: Wireless closest to Reddy would either be that BP station right at the corner of 169 and 18. Option 2 that store nearest Malmo. If not there I guess you'd have to head over to Garrison.

Re: Gear that works, risk

I was talking to Todd H at Reddy Sunday about all that SH** located at the center of a Slingshot bar and line system. Its not a whole lot more or different than many other bar and line systems but nonetheless I am still prompted to ask. Todd has simplified his rig in many ways telling me there is pl...

As of 248pm Tuesday it seems as though the wind has died here in the uptown area. Is it a different story out west at the Wac?

Re: Self Launching

Hey Bill S, When you say put sand on the kite are you suggesting I grab some sand from the bottom out there then throw it on the canopies? I've never seen or heard this suggestion. I've seen some weight down one tip of the kite with sand or a sandbag on the beach folded over. Then when its time to g...

Re: Self Launching

Lee - Thanks for your 2 pennies. I do not have the cable that goes around the back of the harness however. I have seen those on some harnesses in kite shops tho and I am unsure if that's a newer or older harness than the one I have. My warrior harness has 2 rings on it however on either hip. It migh...

Re: Self Launching (Update)

I just had a word with a fellow kiter about last night. We deduced in wavy blowing as hard as it was this past weekend conditions self launching can be a real trick and dicey deal for anyone. If there are people around its always best to ask for help launching or landing your kite even if you feel l...

Self Launching

I turned the kite into position for the drift while drowning the top of the canopies with h2o. Everything is of course happening so quick. Excitement. Windy as hell. Waves. I let my kite drift. Then before the lines tightened up, the kite lifted off the water. It did not lift high off the water yet ...

Re: Lake Washington Saturday

It was nice meeting you + kiting in those conditions. Im that dude who did a little video work right when I arrived while y'all were out making it happen. I looked them over last night while chilling in front of the tube and letting my tired (haven't been used in awhile) muscles relax. I'm sore. I a...

Man vs. Wild

Has anyone ever caught this show? The host Bear Grylls is an outdoor adventurer. He saved his parachute he used to jump off a plane into whatever glacier he decided to teach viewers survival techniques the other night. I think he was in Alaska. Maybe Garrison. No definitely Alaska or Siberia. Anyway...
