Winter Session

The Winter Session at LAKAWA School of Kiteboarding is THE time to learn to kite. Snowkiting, winter's version of kitesurfing, is by far the easiest way to get into the sport. We've learned a lot over the last 6 years and our streamlined process takes you from standing to riding in One Day! We Guarantee it (see below).

Snowkiting 101 Day Clinic
This day long course is all you'll need to start riding on the snow. There is no prerequisite. We start by teaching you the fundamentals of kite flying and kite control, first in a discussion of theory then moving into the wind working with small trainer kites. We then fuel up with a hearty lunch, discussing all the gear. We then move to riding, first with smaller kites and slowly building into more and more power. At this point we work with each student individually. You may get comfortable riding and just want to cruise for the afternoon working with us on technique, or you may want to progress into kites of more and more power.

As always this course is grounded in safe kiting practices. We keep the number of students per instructor to a minimum, and provide drills to instill safety protocols in case something would go wrong. Most students are riding confidently at the end of this course. If for whatever reason you are not, your may return to any clinic free of charge.
