We're very excited about our summer program for 2008. We've got some new equipment that is making the program so much more effective. (see below). We have a three class program, as well as one on one instruction. The three classes build from one to another and develop the three fundamentals of riding, Kite Control, Inflatable Kite Techniques, and Board Skills. All three have a focus on riding safely and confidently. The first class teaches you everything you need to know about flying a kite. Not just steering it around the sky, that part is easy. We focus on helping you develop the skills needed to generate a solid pull from the kite, and how to turn up and down the power as the wind fluctuates. The next course introduces you to all the water gear. There's a lot there; sizing, rigging, boards, bars, lines, harnesses, etc. And that's all before we hit the water, at which time we time we teach you all the safe techniques for handling these big wings; launching, landing, relaunching off the water. We conclude this course with you applying the flying skills you learned in the Intro Class and using the big kite to pull you smoothly through the water in a body drag. After completing those classes, a student then makes an appointment for Kitesurfing 202. This is a One on One hourly class, and progresses at your speed. Here we combine both the skill sets of the first two courses and put on the board. This is when you become a kiteboarder. Nothing like that first ride across the water pulled by that magical silent wonder up in the sky. So free. Come fly with us. Intro to Kiting (Controlling the Kite) This course covers the essentials to begin kiting. A bit of theory, and considerable hands-on experience. The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the sport, and teach you about how and why a kite flys, how to generate power and maintain steady power as the wind fluctuates, safe flying practices, and different kite types. Our goal at the end of this class is to have you moving through the wind, generating consistent power from the kite, not dissimilar to riding on the snow or the water. This is a land based lesson.
If you don't feel like you have the flying skills down after one class, you can come back out any night we're out and join us again for free. Kiteboarding

Scheduling If the forecast for a scheduled 101 clinic look too grim for wind,we'll move it to Sunday. If the whole weekend is a bust we'll move you into another class or accomodate you with a 202 lesson.
* Our 2008 Summer
Program will be taught primarily on the new Bow or Flat kites. Specifically,
the Slingshot T2/T3s. These kites have the durability to survive your
learning curve, are easy and fun to fly, and will sky you to the moon....just
not on your first class : ) Looking forward to meeting you.
